This may seem like a stupid question to most of you but its rather important me. As a guy who got involved in sports wagering rather recently on the internet and never even so much as met a local ever, I hope some of you can help me. Within two months, I'll be moving to a town of about 7000 population 40 minutes from a mid-major sized city. I will know absolutely nobody there. I'm Not moving because of a job change but to finally retire. What complicates things further is I rarely hang out at bars and generally keep to myself, preferring to stay home most of the time.I am willing to go to bars if thats the required course of action, but how do I as a stranger gain somebodies trust. I think this will be really hard to do because like I said initially I'll know nobody there.

I carry no badge and I'm not asking anyone here to lead me to anybody, leave a e-mail address oranything like that, just to give me a tip or two on what I should do to try and find somebody in a new and strange locale.

I see a day coming soon when internet wagering may be too big a hassle for a small time recreational player like myself. Also can anybody tell me what are the minimums usually required by locals and do most keep their phones open for bases in the summer.

If anybody can help me with some general answers, I'll be very greatful. Thanks boys for any help you can send my way.

make friends with some folks at the local sports bar and the track. bartenders are also a good source for knowing who is who.

once you get relocated, im sure youll find that a co-worker or someone else is already hooked up, you might have to post up at first but you shouldnt have any prob.

as far as the bars and stuff, i never really pursued that route to much.
the old man said you want a player that works, then goes home and sits in front of the tv, not out to a bar, those guys that stay at home will make good players for a long time.

Corner of 5th and 6th . he will be the one with the brown hat and note pad . Make sure his hat does not contain a feather or else you may end up with a ugly gal with no teeth.

Find a bar that has all the PPV packages. I went to one just to watch my old college team play and found out about it that way. If its a small enough town and there is a town that has like espn gameplan and the rest of them, its usually for a reason.
